Jay Fechtel

Jay Fechtel has over 26 years experience in business ownership and operation, with over 23 years in the construction, real estate and building science industries. He attended Washington and Lee University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in Commerce. He was also awarded Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honors.

He began his professional career in the public accounting field, practicing as a CPA with Arthur Andersen and Co. where he worked with several high-technology, building and real-estate companies. He later founded and was the CEO of a design-build construction firm, specializing in custom, high-end residential and light commercial construction. The firm designed and built numerous projects with cutting edge, energy-efficient technologies and garnered over 20 national and regional awards. Included among these are 13 green building awards for energy efficient and water conserving design.

Mr. Fechtel is certified by the American Lung Association as a Health House specialist. He was also an invited member of the Department of Energy Industrialized Housing Partnership's Build America Team and has taught building science in the industry.

Mr. Fechtel has served on numerous community boards and service projects. He currently serves on the boards of the Christian Legacy Foundation and Abe Brown Ministries. He is an elder of Lakeshore Bible Church in Tampa, Florida.
